Kaal Sarp Period The Serpent Curse

When all 7 planets are between Rahu, (Caput Draconis in Traditional Western Astrology) and Ketu (Coda Draconis) in the Birth Chart, the infamous Snake Death (Kaal Sarp) curse is formed. There are significant differences in severity of this "curse" depending on which Houses (bhavas) are occupied by Rahu and Ketu.

Even though the majority of people do not have Kaal Sarp curse in their Birth Chart, we all experience these Kaal Sarp periods every now and then in our lives. When the slow moving planets Saturn and Jupiter are on the same side of the Rahu Ketu Axis, there is a good chance for Kaal Sarp to form.

Rahu is currently in the Fixed Earth Sign Taurus till April 12 2022

Currently Rahu and Ketu are in Taurus and Scorpio. Saturn is in Capricorn and Jupiter in Aquarius. And since the Sun (and fast moving Mars, Mercury and Venus) have already transited the Fixed Water Sign Scorpio all the planets are in the grasp of the Celestial Serpent.

Ketu is currently in Scorpio until April 12 April 2022

The Moon, our fastest moving planet of course, makes a whole round of the Zodiac every Lunar month, so for half a month it is on the same side as the other planets and for the other half month it is on the other side of the Rahu Ketu Axis.

On the one hand there are disturbing thoughts and small (but annoying) setbacks, frustration, moodiness, but on the other hand we have an opportunity during this period to deal with Karmic energies and influence our Destiny through meditation and prayer. This challenging but exciting Kaal Sarp period will last till 24 April 2022 when Mercury will pass through Rahu at 29 degrees Aries.
